Ukraine Reports Shelling on the Southeastern City of Zaporizhzhya

The Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya in the southeast of the country was bombarded with rockets early Wednesday morning, according to local authorities.

The regional government speaks of four Russian ballistic missiles that were fired at the city, one of which had been disabled by the air defences.

It is not yet clear how extensive the damage is or whether there have been any casualties. Rescue services are on-site, the regional government said on Telegram.

Zaporizhzhya is located more than 200 kilometres northwest of the Russian-occupied port city of Mariupol.
