Twenty People Jailed After Explosion in Chinese Cafeteria

At least 20 people have been detained after an explosion in the cafeteria of a local government in Chongqing, China.

 

The public television broadcaster CCTV reported this on Friday.

CCTV said that the explosion occurred just afternoon (local time) and was “possibly caused by a gas leak,” CCTV said.

Collapsed walls are visible in the first photos circulated by Chinese media on social media. An undisclosed number of injured have been taken to hospital. The emergency services are on site.
