Trump Wants US Companies to Open Again by Easter

For the second consecutive day, US President Donald Trump has made it clear that measures against the coronavirus must not last too long.

He would like to see companies open again by Easter, April 12. “The solution shouldn’t be worse than the problem,” he said at a news conference on Monday.

“Keeping our country closed can pose more serious problems than the virus itself.” Still, the World Health Organization said today that the US might well become the next epicentre of the outbreak.

President Trump is not very happy with the fact that about a third of Americans now have to stay in their homes and thus cannot go to work.

“I would like to see companies return to normal by Easter or April 12,” he told Fox News. He warns that more people will die if restrictions such as lockdowns remain in place.
