Trump Walks Away from the Interview, Threatens to Publish Prematurely

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday evening (local time) threatened to release an interview with news channel CBS early after he walked out of the interview. With this Trump wanted to denounce that CBS interviewer Lesley Stahl is biased.

Trump’s threat on Twitter indicates that he did not like the questions in the interview for the CBS program 60 Minutes. The news station reported on Twitter that the president had cut off the interview, but gave no further details as to the exact reason.

The press has raised numerous factually inaccurate statements and claims made by the president in recent years. Trump, in turn, has often accused the media of bias to his detriment. However, a threat to release the content of the interview before it airs Sunday is highly uncommon.

“I would like to inform you that, for the sake of accuracy of the coverage, I am considering posting my interview with Lesley Stahl from 60 Minutes, before airing!” “I do that so that everyone can see what a fake and biased interview it is.”

In another post on Twitter, the president called the interview “a terrible disruption to the election.” Earlier Tuesday, Trump posted a 6-second video of Stahl on Twitter, in which she can be seen without a mouth mask. According to Trump, it was shot in the White House after the shooting. In the accompanying text, the president reiterated that Stahl did not wear a mouth mask.

Trump has often dismissed the wearing of face masks as unnecessary and has repeatedly made false claims about the effectiveness of wearing face masks in preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
