The Russian ambassador to the United States will return to the US next week after three months, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
Anatoli Antonov was recalled in March after Joe Biden answered affirmatively when asked whether Vladimir Putin is a murderer.
Putin and Biden met in Geneva on Wednesday, and the Kremlin called the talks positive on Thursday.
The two leaders agreed that the ambassadors could return to their posts. Putin said he is open to further talks if the US is willing to do so.
A Kremlin spokesman emphasized on Thursday that it is positive that both countries want nuclear weapons never to be used again. “We need to talk to each other about stability and regulating weapons.”
