In Brazil, more than 50,000 people have died from the effects of the lung virus since the coronavirus outbreak. This is evident from figures published by the Brazilian Ministry of Health on Sunday.
The South American country now has 50,617 corona deaths, almost 650 more than on Saturday. The most significant hotspot after the United States has registered 1,085,038 infection cases.
Experts say the actual numbers are likely to be much higher because there is minimal testing in the country.
World Health Organization WHO registered a record number of new contamination cases within 24 hours on Sunday: 183,020.
The most substantial increase occurred in North and South America.
There were 116,000 new infected people there last 24 hours. The old record was 181,232 and was set on June 18.
