Man Shot Dead Who Threatened Police With Knife at Paris Station

On Monday morning, a man was shot and killed at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris after threatening two police officers with a knife. The police report this.

The man threatened the police officers with a 12-inch knife marked “ACAB”. That letter combination stands for “all cops are bastards” (“all cops are bastards”).

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed on Twitter that the officers were attacked around 7 a.m. while on patrol. “The police officers used their weapons and averted any danger to themselves and the travellers,” Darmanin said.

Transport Minister Baptiste Djebbari told RMC radio that the attacker is “known to the police because he is roaming the station”. “He allegedly attacked law enforcement with a knife, prompting them to use their weapon.”
