Justice Done? Murderers of Jamal Khashoggi Live in Luxury

At least three commando members that killed critical journalist Jamal Khashoggi are living in luxury in Riyadh. A source within the Saudi intelligence service told The Guardian that.

The men were nevertheless convicted of Khashoggi’s violent death, but they are not in prison for that.

Several people have already seen the three members of the assassination squad walking by the villas and luxury residences – owned by the Saudi security services – in which they live in Riyadh. A source told The Guardian that they live there in luxury and are constantly visited by relatives. They also have access to the gym on site and work there too. Gardeners and caterers are also on the site to meet all the needs of the people who stay there.

The assassination squad members that killed The Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi on October 2, 2018, in the Saudi embassy in Istanbul, were nevertheless sentenced to life sentences. One of them was Salah Mohammed Tubaigy, a forensic doctor who worked for the Ministry of the Interior. Tubaigy is one of three men seen living peacefully at the luxury site in Riyadh, far from the prison.

The revelations suggest that no real justice has been brought to the case. The Saudi government has never disclosed where the convicts are serving their sentences. Many international observers say the reason for this is that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the killing because Khashoggi felt he wrote too critical of the Saudi government.
