Judge Wants Secret Epstein Deal Public in Prince Andrew Trial

A US judge has ruled that the secret deal between billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre must be made public in the abuse case against British Prince Andrew, The Guardian reports.

The defence argues that Giuffre cannot sue the prince over her settlement with the now-deceased Epstein.

The lawyers say the woman has waived her right to sue the prince. Giuffre claims Andrew assaulted her several times in 2001 when she was 17 years old. He has denied all allegations. Giuffre had sued Epstein for sexual abuse years ago. That eventually led to a confidential settlement.

The prince’s lawyers were permitted to view the deal in October. However, the judge has now decided that the document must be published by December 22, The Guardian writes. But only if there is no valid objection from the trustees of Epstein’s estate.

Epstein was not only accused of sexual abuse by Giuffre. The investigation into the many allegations was halted due to his death. The American committed suicide in 2019 while he was in prison awaiting a lawsuit against him. The trial of his alleged right-hand man Ghislaine Maxwell started at the end of November.
