Finland Will Randomly Test Citizens for Antibodies

Finland will map the spread of the new coronavirus by randomly testing citizens for antibodies. For example, it can be determined whether people have had COVID-19, even if they have not noticed it themselves.

Finns can get a request from hospitals for a test. People from all age groups are invited, says the health service of the Northern European country.

When people have had COVID-19, their bodies have produced antibodies.

These tests will allow the authorities to gain more insight into what measures are necessary to prevent further spread of the virus.

The first tests are planned to be carried out in the region near the capital Helsinki.
