A Vega launch vehicle successfully launched five satellites into orbit around the Earth during the night from Monday to Tuesday.
This year, it was the second launch of the smallest European launch vehicle after a flight had failed in November.
The Vega was launched at 10:47 PM local time in Kourou, French Guiana. Notably, the launch vehicle launched the Pléiades Neo 4, an Airbus high-resolution Earth observation satellite, into space. It is the second satellite of a constellation of four.
In addition, Vega’s payload consisted of four cubesats (nanosatellites).
The European Space Organization (ESA) will use three of these for scientific missions, and the fourth is from the French start-up Unseenlabs.
