NBA star LeBron James is already considering retiring from basketball after this season. The all-time top scorer in American basketball was disappointed after the elimination in the playoffs for the national title.
“I have a lot to think about, such as how my basketball career will continue,” the 38-year-old American said.
“I don’t get a kick out of a final spot; I’ve experienced that so many times,” said James after the lost final battle in the Western Division playoffs against Denver Nuggets (0-4). “I only play for titles now. So I wouldn’t say I like it without playing a final. So we’ll see what happens; I don’t know yet.”
As of this season, James is the record holder in the NBA for the most points ever scored in the league. The star extended his contract last fall until at least next season with an option for another year.
In the past, James has indicated that he would like to play at the highest level with his son LeBron James Jr., but the 18-year-old ‘Bronny’ will not be in the NBA until the 2024/2025 season at the earliest.
